Logistics training, MoU proposed with Vietnam

A delegation from the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport visited the Transport Development and Strategy Institute (TDSI) and the Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) in Vietnam for two days on May 16-17 to foster cooperation in the logistics sector. PUBLIC WORK MINISTRY

Cambodia and Vietnam are fostering cooperation in the establishment of bilateral logistics development projects. The two governments aim to enhance the efficiency of the transport sector, including through the exchange of specialists and interns.

Chheang Pich – head of the ministry's General Directorate of Logistics – led the delegation, which discussed improving cooperation through a potential memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the two Vietnamese institutions.

During the visit, the TDSI convened bilateral meetings to discuss and share practical experiences to encourage cooperation with various development partners.

“These discussions aimed at the exchange of experts and knowledge, as well as collaborative research on ecological logistics. In addition, we expect to sign an MoU soon,” Pich added.

TDSI representatives and a further two universities in Vietnam also welcomed the idea of closer cooperation, and proposed short training courses, as well higher education and post-graduate studies, for the civil servants of both nations who work in the field of logistics.
