Keeping to its commitment to provide convenient and safe banking facilities to its customers, Prince Bank Plc on Thursday launched the very first drive-through ATM in the Kingdom, at Amazon Coffee, Global House Sen Sok in the northwest of Phnom Penh.
The ATM was officially unveiled by Prince Bank’s CEO Honn Sorachna, chief business officer Leslie Lee and head of alternative channels Theam Sopheak in the presence of the bank’s senior management team.
The event was symbolically held at 11:11am on 11/11/2021.
Sorachna said: “As we all adjust to the new normal in the way we live due to the ongoing pandemic, this also includes adjusting to the way we bank.
“Prince Bank always puts the needs of our customers first, and we work hard to make sure they have a safe, convenient and pleasant experience in their daily banking, especially so with Covid-19 preventive measures such as social distancing and avoiding congested environments.
“This new initiative to bring about a drive-through ATM is a result of us continuously trying harder for our customers.”
“The ATM drive-through is a new way of banking in Cambodia, and we are very pleased to be the first bank to bring this innovative banking service to the Kingdom. In fact, there are only a handful of drive-through ATMs in the Southeast Asia region, such as in Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
“Moreover, as technological advancements in verification services – such as biometrics and geolocation – continue, customers can bank even more safely from the comfort of their homes or vehicles, or in branches.”
Such services can already be performed using the Prince Mobile Banking App and with the bank’s nationwide network of ATMs and CDMs.
“Prince Bank will continue to pursue more innovative banking services for our customers to meet their ever-evolving banking needs.
“That way, customers can have access to the most innovative, safe and convenient banking services possible,” Sorachna added.
This first Prince Bank drive-through ATM will provide customers with a host of services including cash withdrawals, credit card payments, account transfers, mobile top-ups, balance inquiries and many more. Other banks’ customers can also withdraw cash from the drive-through ATM using Mastercard, Visa, Union Pay or CSS cards.
Sorachna said: “It provides an added layer of comfort, safety and convenience as customers can drive in through a dedicated entry driveway and access banking services from their vehicles whenever they want, 24/7, to get access to their money or perform banking transactions.
“Our customers don’t need to find a parking spot, walk up to the ATM and then get back to the vehicle.
“Our customers can complete their banking needs faster than accessing a normal ATM, especially if there is a queue or a congested environment. This is particularly important when social distancing is paramount in protecting oneself in the current pandemic.”
Sopheak said: “Our team worked very hard for months to make this a reality for our valued customers. We are happy to see it come to fruition and that they can enjoy this new convenience.”
Currently, Prince Bank has 71 ATM locations nationwide, including this brand new and first in the Kingdom drive-through ATM.
Other ATMs are located at its 32 branches as well as at shopping malls, convenience stores, petrol stations and standalone ATM kiosks located at high traffic locations for customer convenience.
