Duo implicated in failed clothing-container heist

Two suspects were arrested Friday and six others have been questioned following an alleged plot to steal clothing from a cargo container in Kampong Speu province.

“I sent only two names to provincial court, and the other [six] were just held for questioning,” Kampong Speu Provincial Military Police Deputy Commander Chan Da said yesterday. “If they are not involved, we will release them.”

The two that authorities suspect of conspiring to steal clothing, which was bound for export to South Korea, cut the bolt of the container on Friday night before authorities surrounded and arrested them, Da said yesterday.

Authorities are searching for other people involved.
