Assembly approves Sok Pheng for Prey Veng seat

Assembly approves Sok Pheng for Prey Veng seat

National Assembly president Heng Samrin announced on Monday that Sok Pheng would take up the vacant seat in Prey Veng province after the incumbent Pov Samy passed away in 2015 at the age of 73.

The appointment of Pheng, 65, who is also deputy director of the Prey Veng province branch of the Cambodian Red Cross, was approved by 108 ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) lawmakers.

Members of the National Assembly on Monday also adopted draft laws related to bilateral agreements on investment with Bangladash, the UAE and Turkey.

A draft law on the production and management of petroleum was also adopted, as was an agreement for the creation of an international network for the export and promotion of Cambodian bamboo and rattan products.
