Authorities to inspect disputed Kampong Speu land

Officials from Kampong Speu province will inspect the 45 hectares under dispute between 17 families and two companies, which had been acquired for development purposes.

Oral district governor Muong Thy said authorities tried to resolve the issue between both parties yesterday, but could not reach a compromise.

Hence, officials decided to visit the area next week to seek clarity on the acquisition and ownership of the land.

He said on August 14, the two companies – only known as Yin Wu and Dream Coffee – bulldozed the land to develop it according to their master plan, but no further details were disclosed.
