Happpytap, a social enterprise, donated 22 of their “Labobo” hand-washing stations to Hun Sen Mitthapheap High School in Preah Sihanouk province on September 13 in advance of the school’s reopening.

In a press statement on September 14, HappyTap noted that the school is carefully following the standard operating procedures (SOP) issued by the Ministry of Health.

For its reopening, the health ministry’s rules for social distancing and mask wearing will be in full effect along with Covid-19 testing for all students and staff and, now, an innovative approach to hand hygiene courtesy of the hand-washing stations donated by the firm.

Roswell Thomas, director of business development for HappyTap, said the hand-washing stations have been used in schools in the US, UK and around the world and that they were proud to support schools like Hun Sen Mittapheap High School.

“We are working with partners on a project for safe school reopening, and we invite other potential partners – whether they are NGOs, corporations or others – to join us in this work as schools across the country welcome students back to the classroom,” he said.

Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport spokesman Ros Soveacha said the ministry welcomed the donation and thanked the firm for their contribution towards creating a safe and Covid-free learning environment at the school.
