NPMEC lauds demining efforts in Tbong Khmum

Deputy director of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces (NPMEC) Sem Ratana said NPMEC forces had achieved great results from their demining work in Tbong Khmum province’s Memot district. He shared his appreciation for their professional work conduct.

Ratana met with the NPMEC deminers in Choam Krovean and Treak communes on August 26. They are carrying out operations in support of efforts to make Cambodia landmine free by 2025. He said the forces had performed their duties with courage and without hesitation or complaint.

“They overcome all obstacles with total dedication to their duties. They stay far away from their families, working under extreme conditions of sun, wind and rain with no complaint. They are role models and outstanding representatives of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces,” he was quoted as saying by NPMEC social media.

He also implored the deminers to protect one another and to always be vigilant against the dangers caused by landmines and unexploded ordnance.
