Post brings WAN-IFRA gold home

The Phnom Penh Post added to its trophy cabinet on Wednesday evening, winning a gold medal at the WAN-IFRA Asian Media Awards in Bangalore, India.

The Post won the prize in the Best in Newspaper Feature Article category for the special 68-page edition it published last year to celebrate the paper’s 20th anniversary, edging out hundreds of publications in the Asia-Pacific, South Asia and Middle East regions.

After accepting the award at the Hotel Taj Vivanta Yeshwantpur, Post Editor-in-Chief Alan Parkhouse thanked publisher Ross Dunkley for giving him free rein in producing the edition and also gave a special thanks to Post founder Michael Hayes for his help in providing insights into the paper’s 20-year history.

“A lot of great writers and photographers contributed to this special project, and I’d like to thank each and every one of them,” he said. “In particular, I’d like to thank the edition’s two wonderful designers, Tun Min So and Ko Pxyo.”
