Power outages to hit Kandal, Phnom Penh

Power outages to hit Kandal, Phnom Penh

Electricity du Cambodge (EDC) will cut the power supply in some areas of Phnom Penh and Kandal province starting on Friday to allow for maintenance work and upgrades.

In a statement released on Tuesday, EDC said it had scheduled repairs, hardware replacement, equipment upgrades and the moving of some wires blocking a road extension to take place between June 3 and 5.

According to the letter, the June 3 and 4 outages will be between 8am and 4pm. On June 5, the power will be cut between 8am and 5pm.

The districts affected include Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok (June 3 and 4), Chbar Ampov (June 3, 4, 5), Meanchey (June 4), Daun Penh (June 5) and Russey Keo (June 3, 4) districts and Kandal province’s Takhmao district (June 3).
