’Powerful man’ grabs famous tycoon’s land

A famouse oknha (tycoon) from Preah Sihanouk province posted a message on his Facebook page, claiming a powerful man from Phnom Penh has grabbed his 14ha farmland and destroyed his farmhouses.

This young oknha, identified as Tea Vichet – the nephew of Defence Minister Tea Banh – posted a message on Monday saying: “At this moment, I am facing a problem. A powerful rich person living in Phnom Penh grabbed my farmland!”

The message revealed that the ‘powerful person living in Phnom Penh’ is someone whom Vichet knows dearly. But, he did not confirm the identity of the person.

Miech Chan, recently elected as the commune chief, informed that none of the local authorities has received a complaint or report pertaining to the dispute.
