Sar Kheng FB group solves over 500 cases

Minister of Interior Sar Kheng’s Facebook monitoring group has received requests and questions from nearly 1,600 account users, of which 536 have been addressed.

Sar Kheng on January 29 spoke of the results of the 2021 work of the monitoring group.

“In the year 2021, the group received requests and questions that fell under the jurisdiction of the interior ministry from 1,592 account users,” he said.

He added that the group had responded to and addressed the issues of 536 of them, while the comments or requests of another 655 account users were in the process of being resolved.

Some other comments, requests and problems did not fall under the jurisdiction of the ministry and were referred to the relevant authorities.

“This progress was only achieved thanks to the efforts and cooperation of the leaders and officials of the interior ministry, national and sub-national institutions and the team running my Facebook page,” he said.

Sar Kheng also thanked those compatriots who had offered comments and suggestions to him through this medium because they had allowed him to solve some problems outside the court system, which often meant faster solutions and relieved strain on the judicial system.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to ask for patience and understanding in those cases that have yet to be resolved. Some procedures require more time,” he said.

In a report, head of the working group Chea Sokunthea said that in 2021, 401 comments had been referred to the police, and that other remarks had been sent to many different departments, including those of immigration, prisons or logistics and finance.
