Sar Kheng tells officials to solve encroachment in Battambang province area

Minister of Interior Sar Kheng urged authorities in Battambang province to resolve land disputes in a transparent and fair manner and to improve delivery of public services. His message was particularly aimed at commune councils, clerks and village chiefs.

Sar Kheng also reminded leaders of the ruling Cambodian People Party’s (CPP) working group in Battambang to continue to work hard to serve the public and to address any inactivity which could affect national interests or the morale of the people.

This included solving the issue of encroachment on the flooded forest land next to the Tonle Sap Lake in Moung Russey, Sangke, Ek Phnom and Thma Koul districts.

Sar Kheng requested a detailed report of how the issue was being addressed so that he could contribute to finding a resolution through the various means available.

He made these comments on February 19 while meeting with the CPP’s provincial working group. Discussions were held about implementing a joint working plan towards the commune council elections scheduled for June 5, and an outline of 2022 work directions was reviewed.
