SOS signal ignored by anti-corruption chief

Six members of the “SOS” airport community who claim Por Sen Chey District Governor Hem Darith is refusing to review their land title claims got their meeting with Anti-Corruption Unit chief Om Yentieng yesterday, but didn’t get the answer they were seeking.

“Om Yentieng told us our case is not related to corruption, so no matter where we go, even to Prime Minister Hun Sen, he cannot do anything,” said Kao Sovann, deputy leader of the community.

Unhappy with the explanation, Sovann said the group will take their complaints elsewhere.

“We will go to the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Land Management and Construction,” he said.

Darith said the ACU has not contacted him, but he would sign the titles “if land title experts and airport authorities give their consent.”
