Three Covid-hit provinces ease restrictions

Three provinces have eased restrictions and traffic is back to normal after transmission of Covid-19 was brought under control in the areas.

In Kampong Cham province, the provincial administration lifted lockdown measures on a facility for general treatment in Srey Santhor district referral hospital, and Prek Po polyclinic in Roka Tvea, in Srey Santhor’s Prek Po commune. Both were locked down on April 16 after Covid-19 infected people had come for treatment.

In Prey Veng, the provincial administration has permitted travel in four communes in Peam Ro district: Preaek Khsay Ka, Preaek Khsay Kha, Neak Loeung, and Peam Ro. Traffic in these communes has been suspended since April 13 after Covid-19 cases were detected.

“Now, the situation in these communes is improved and no other cases found. To enable people to commute to work, Prey Veng administration has opened traffic in these four communes from April 28,” the administration announcement said, calling on residents to practice preventative measures.

In Preah Sihanouk province, many facilities which had been used as quarantine centres have reverted to their regular business.
