Daytrippers’ concealed weapon exposed in crash

The big city seemed intimidating for three Kampong Speu province men who packed their samurai sword during a visit yesterday.

The men were on a daytrip to the capital when their motorbike collided with another in Chamkarmon district and fell to the road.

The hidden blade slid out and – despite trying to hide it under a nearby tree – it was seen by bystanders who alerted authorities.

During questioning, the rural lads claimed they packed the steel so they wouldn’t be robbed on their journey.
