A decade-old secret brings bragger strife

One man’s boasting went a bit too far when he brought an AK-47 to a dance in Kandal province’s Takhmao town and was arrested on Monday.

Police said that after getting drunk, the 36-year-old pulled out the gun he had been hiding for 10 years, along with 28 bullets, and took it to the party to show off.

When villagers became frightened, they alerted authorities who came to book the man, who said he found the weapon in an old military base.
