Two bag snatchers regretted the escape route when it crossed the path of an official convoy and they were quickly caught and arrested on Wednesday.
As two ladies were leaving a market in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district, two men steered close, pulled away a bag and drove off.
The next road, however, was lined with cops blocking traffic for a motorcade, and the women’s calls for help were answered when officers cornered them.
The pair of poor-planning pilferers was taken to the station and the purse was returned to its owner.
