Helmets are safeguards when it comes to head-on collisions if two separate incidents in Oddar Meanchey province’s Trapaing Prasat district are any indication.
In the first case, which happened on Friday, a woman and 15-year-old boy both took the brunt of their collision to their thighs when they ploughed their moped into a car that was travelling in the opposite direction.
Meanwhile, in the same district and on the same day, a four-scooter pileup – again resulting from motorists driving in the wrong direction – left a woman with an injury to the mouth. Police sent those needing treatment off to hospital and reminded their citizenry about the importance of staying in the right lane.
