A Battambang vegetable seller found himself in quite a pickle when a sack filled with 10 million riel (about $2,500) was stolen from his house in O’Char commune.
While the vendor was selling produce at the market on Monday, a neighbour broke into his house and made off with his nest egg. Returning to see the stash was gone, the 56-year-old called in police to investigate.
After questioning villagers they zeroed in on a 28-year-old suspect who ultimately admitted to the crime and handed back the bundle of bills before being sent off to the big house.
