Mother slashes daughter’s alleged would-be rapist

A Koh Kong mother slashed her husband’s genitalia with a kitchen knife on Thursday night when she discovered him attempting to rape his 14-year-old stepdaughter, police said.

Saphal Doung Vireak, Khemarak Phoumin city chief of staff, said that suspect Yi Sopha, 30, was arrested yesterday on charges of attempted rape with aggravated circumstances.

“The woman went to urinate and came back seeing him attempting to rape her daughter, so she took the knife to attack him,” said Vireak yesterday, aadding that Sopha, who was detained at Koh Kong provincial police headquarters, was expected to make a full recovery.

The attack followed his second alleged rape attempt that same night, added Vireak.
