Kingdom athlete powers home third in Thailand

Cambodian athlete Cheng Chandara finished third in the U29 competition at the 2015 Triathlon International Championship in Thailand, among 200 athletes from nine countries who joined the event on Sunday.

Four Cambodian athletes joined the competition with a 1,500m swim, 40km cycle and a 10km run, with all of them training for three months in Thailand beforehand. Chandara’s teammates Say Sophors and Chhun Bunthorn finished eighth and ninth in the U29 competition.

Cambodian Triathlon Federation secretary Ngin Sopanha said: “The results show we are well prepared for the upcoming 2015 SEA Games in Singapore.”
