One last victory for the road at 2014 Homeless World Cup

Cambodia ended another testing run at the Homeless World Cup on a positive note by beating the Czech Republic 9-2 in their seventh-place playoff of the fifth tier competition, the Futbol Calle Cup, on Sunday in Santiago.

This equated to finishing 39th out of 42 participating teams. Cambodian hotshot Then Lang Eng knocked five goals past the Czechs to bring his total to 24 from 13 games.

The Kingdom had lost their quarter-final of the Futbol Calle Cup 5-1 to India on Saturday before being edged 4-3 by Finland in their semi-final. Hosts Chile grabbed a remarkable double success with both their men’s and women’s teams triumphing overall to lift the Homeless World Cup trophies on Sunday.

The men’s team beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 5-2 in their final while the women’s outfit overcame Mexico 4-3.
