Bun Heng shares appreciation for capital’s health workers

Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng has renewed his calls for doctors to maintain their ethical and professional code of conduct when caring for patients, amid the public’s growing confidence in public health services.

Bun Heng, along with Phnom Penh deputy governor Imran Hassan, presided over the June 1 awards ceremony for the leadership and staff of the Phnom Penh Municipal administration’s medical team, said a health ministry press release.

During the function, the minister appreciated the excellent cooperation between local authorities and other government institutions to combat public health challenges of all kinds.

He noted that they had seized counterfeit and illegally imported medication, while also quashing illegal health services.

“The public’s trust in public health services is increasing as more and more people access it. Consultations and treatments have also gained momentum,” he said.

“However, we must maintain that trust, by behaving ethically and offering friendly service to all of our patients,” he added.

He also expressed his pride in the Kingdom’s strong united effort to bring the Covid-19 pandemic under control.

“This remarkable achievement came from the wise leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Hun Sen, who established the national commissions to combat Covid-19,” he explained.

He noted that the government continued to monitor the disease closely, and reminded people that the pandemic was far from over.

He shared his admiration for all of the capital’s health officials, along with the members of the security forces, authorities at all levels and the general public, for working together to control the virus, concluded the press release.
