The Ministry of Environment and the French Development Agency (AFD), announced that they will continue to work together on a green finance framework, the promotion of community livelihoods, energy efficiency and biodiversity conservation and environmental protection.

They are currently running an education campaign which aims to raise awareness of sustainable environmental-based livelihoods.

The commitment was made during an April 20 meeting between Minister of Environment Say Samal and Sandrine Boucher, the new country director of AFD, said a ministry press release.

Samal thanked the government of France, especially president Emmanuel Macron, for its contribution to long-term carbon neutral development strategies, as well as their acknowledgement of Cambodia’s efforts to combat climate change.

During the meeting, Bourcher told Samal that AFD has implemented many projects in Cambodia, all of which are line with the Kingdom’s priority goals, especially in the environment sector.
