Sar Kheng calls for improved public order

Minister of Interior Sar Kheng reiterated that it is the duty of all members of the armed forces and relevant authorities to maintain peace, political stability and social order. They must also protect the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, national sovereignty and Constitutional Monarchy.

The call came as he presided over a ceremony at Po Andet pagoda on March 30 in Prey Veng province's Pea Reang district, according to the ministry's social media post.

Sar KHENG also stressed that local authorities at all levels need to pay close attention to the implementation of the "safe village-commune" policy and promote the participation of people in the prevention and suppression of offences in their jurisdictions.

He cited the trafficking, distribution or use of illegal drugs, theft, and violent offences as particular areas of concern.

Sar Kheng also urged that the authorities be mindful of their responsibility to provide people with administrative services, such as birth certificates, ID cards, marriage certificate and other documents, in a timely, effective manner.
