331 former Cambodian soldiers in Siem Reap province’s Kralanh district were honoured with medals in a May 18 ceremony.
The medals were bestowed by a grateful government as a token of appreciation for the sacrifice’s the veterans have made to achieve peace for the motherland.
The ceremony was conducted by Siem Reap lawmaker Sieng Nam, on behalf of Kun Kim, secretary-general of the Cambodia Veteran’s Association.
The medals were presented to these brave individuals as a reward for their heroism and loyalty to the Kingdom. Despite many losing their lives or risking serious disability, they were determined to fight for peace,” said Nam.
On behalf of Prime Minister Hun Sen, he thanked the assembled veterans for their contributions to the hard-won peace that Cambodia enjoys today.
He urged the veterans to remain united and support each other, as they would their families.
